Module 5

I know that if I did not work in school district without any money or technology, I would definitely uphold 21st Century classroom ideals. I would use technology to vary instruction as much as I could. I do not believe that static or dynamic continuum could exist without the other. To support this continuum, there must be tools that support a variety of teaching and learning applications. In a typical distance education scenario, a variety of mixed media should be used – and that could include both dynamic and static applications. Printed applications work best for some, while audio or video applications would best for others. Ideally, the best DE would include all three forms.

  1. What an excellent graphic organizer! I thought it was extremely well organized and structured and very easy to grasp your entire concept! I think you made an excellent point that static is not bad, that using a combination of both static and dynamic would create an ideal scenario. Funny that I didn't of that. I allowed myself to be too led by the instructions to state how we would begin to move toward the dynamic end. But is being on only one end of the spectrum really the best answer in any scenario? Thanks for that insight.

P.S. Sorry my blog posting was late! It is up now.

  2. I don't like that I can't edit my post. Sorry for the typo above . . . "Funny that I didn't THINK of that."

  3. Hi Ms. Eder--Your graphic organizer is very easy to read and looks great! I like the style you used as it looks very professional. Also, you included a number of items that I did not think of. Nicely done! I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts about needing both static and dynamic tools. Static is useful for reference materials, which we will always need, and dynamic tools are useful to explore and integrate topics into new knowledge. In doing so we may question what we "think" we already know, thus, we might need to consult our static content for a refresher or clarification on our baseline logic. I find that I can normally add to or adjust my baseline logic to accommodate new ideas. Thanks for sharing!

    Shane.
